My paternal grandmother came from a town called Malta on the island of Salina in Sicily. My maternal grandparents were of Italian and Armenian heritage. Both were born in America.

I speak some rusty Italian and cook Italian cuisine fairly well. I'm fortunate to have a mother that cooks both Italian and Armenian food very well, particularly because it's difficult to find authentic Armenian food in America.
